A new celebrity makeup brand arrived in town and makeup addicts are eagerly discussing the products they have their eyes on. WYN Beauty is the brainchild of the iconic tennis player Serena Williams who retired in 2022. Serena nurtured a love of makeup from an early age and it blossomed through various media appearances. One thing to know about WYN? “The brand is authentic to who I am,” a direct quote from the founder herself.
Inspired by her experiences being an elite athlete and doing her makeup with limited options, Serena ensured that makeup addicts of any age would find the perfect shade match and product. The brand is launching with 10 different products with lots of shade options. One that was heavily marketed is the Featuring You Hydrating Skin Enhancing Tint ($29). The skin tint is imbued with SPF 30 and provides up to 72 hours of hydration, perfect for those on the go (whatever that means for you). More impressive? The 36 hues are offered so you are guaranteed to find your match.
Beyond the skin tint are concealers, 2 lipstick lines, brow pencils, mascara, eyeliner, lip serums, and a multipurpose lip/cheek tint. Every single item is affordable, making WYN a brand that many people will gravitate to as opposed to other celebrity brands. A cute detail added to the products is the packaging; the color is inspired by the yellow-green hue of a tennis ball. Cute packaging, affordable, and a good starting lineup? The people are intrigued.
Several beauty-focused subreddits hyped the lip serums while others questioned the eyeliners. Naturally, there are detractors simply because WYN is a celeb-owned brand but look at how another brand (*cough* Flower Beauty *cough*) did.
